Advising

When following curiosity into uncharted territory, Â鶹´«Ã½ians aren’t afraid to ask for directions.

In a community full of unique intellectual journeys, we’re used to fielding all sorts of questions. The complex, the straightforward, and the strange. When you're creating a curriculum, your journey through the liberal arts is yours to make. But don’t forget: you have dedicated mentors, distinguished scholars, and a whole academic community cheering you on.

    Faculty Advisers

    Engaged adviser, engaged advisees.

Just like you, our faculty are here to contribute to the collective intellect of this academic community. With their diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and methods, our faculty create a supportive and challenging learning environment that’s like no other. Your tutorial professor will be your faculty adviser until you choose a major, and then you will chose the adviser who best fits your needs and aspirations.

    Peer Mentoring and Tutoring

Learn from someone who has been where you are.

Peer mentors or tutors are available for nearly every subject and skillset, from anthropology to athletics. These mentors have experience in navigating Â鶹´«Ã½'s resources and can help you make useful connections. Then, when you're ready, you can be a mentor to others, solidifying your knowledge and leadership along the way.

    CAREERS, LIFE, AND SERVICE ADVISER

Connecting your interests to real opportunities.

As you grow in your studies, you’ll explore larger issues of purpose and responsibility, both on campus and beyond. As you do, your Careers, Life, and Service exploratory adviser will support your professional, personal, and civic development. You’ll meet with this adviser during New Student Orientation and every semester. Along the way you’ll discuss your values and interests, and how you’ll build a career that’s meaningful to you.

    RESIDENCE LIFE COORDINATOR

Making sure you always feel at home.

Moving into a new environment with an entirely new group of people can bring exciting experiences. It can also require some adjustments. Your residence life coordinator (RLC), who lives in your residential community, is the primary resource for you and your neighbors as you navigate your shared space together. RLCs are available throughout the day, with someone on call throughout the night. Their role is to support your success at Â鶹´«Ã½ socially, and personally, and to be there to help you feel at home away from home.
