John Worley Prize in Philosophy
This prize was established in honor of Professor John H. ‘Jack’ Worley, a member of the Philosophy Department faculty from 1966 until 1991. Professor Worley received his Ph.D. degree from Northwestern University, and served as a member of the American Philosophical Association and as an officer of the Iowa Philosophical Association. During his tenure on the Â鶹´«Ã½ faculty, Professor Worley inspired numerous students and it is by their generosity and through efforts of Mike Kump ’74 and Rob Leventhal ’75 that this prize was made possible.
The John Worley Prize in Philosophy is awarded annually to an outstanding senior philosophy student who has demonstrated both excellence in philosophy and a commitment to the ideals of a liberal arts education, and who intend to continue a formal education after graduation from Â鶹´«Ã½.
